After the Sun has set

Artemis concealed her aura as she sat at a booth drinking.
The alcohol never did anything to her because of her regeneration. It would not allow her to feel the affects of the alcohol for very long. The regeneration would chase away and dissolve the alcohol quickly.
Artemis had learned early on that coming here she could see almost all the people who dwelled within (lived or passed through) Aeronwen. She could examine people and figure for herself it they would be a problem within her city.
Artemis went to take a drink only to realize she was out. She raised her hand to the female bartender. Artemis had let the girl know who she was when Artemis had entered. This way the girl would bring her a drink and not think twice about it or worry if she was serving a ruffian.
"Straight whiskey correct ma'am?" The bartender asked.
"Yes thank you." Artemis said as she gave the girl more bills for a tip.

Draiton walked into the bar and started unbuckling his trenchcoat and left a pair of sunglasses on despite the dim lighting. He reached into his pocket to pull out a black leather wallet and tossed a couple bills on the bar. "20 year old scotch if you've got it." He sat down on a stool at the bar and glanced around the bar. It seemed a few people were suspicious about him including the bartender. He though didn't care what they thought as long as no one tried anything. His kind was hated by all people no matter what he did or said he doubted anyone would trust him. He just sat there thinking what to do next while patiently waiting for his drink.

Artemis lightly scented the air. She kept her black cloak up as well as the hood. People tended to act weird if they realized it was her.
"Ahh, a demon. Hmmm, he doesn't seem to have an evil aura. Neutral most likely." Artemis thought to herself as she noticed the demon when he walked in.
Artemis knew that not all demons were evil and that not all angels were good. She kept watch over all the supernaturals who came into the city... just as she too was watched.

Draiton felt a presence in the room looking at him. He could feel their eyes burning into him. Who was it? He looked around and saw another hooded person just a couple seats down from him. He said to the person in a tone that had no anger or kindness in it, "Is there something you want to say? I'm not some creature that’s here for you to stare at. You’ve been watching long enough for me to feel your eyes then you must have been thinking something by now. What is it you want?" He took the glass as the bartender finally got back with it and took a small gulp of it. He started drumming his fingers on the glass waiting for an answer and used his power to drag from the air any aura he could find. This personage had none that he could find. "This person must be really strong to be able to hide their aura like that from me." He looked at the person a bit longer and then looked to his hand and fiddled with a bronze ring on it.

Artemis smiled under her hood. She knew the demon could not tell anything about her, what she was or even her gender.
"I am the Captain of the Mages and Guardians here. I am only checking people who come here to make sure they will do no harm in my city." Artemis said into his mind.
She laughed slightly when the demon jumped hearing the voice in his head.
"I am convinced you will do no harm, that you feel to be a neutral party. That is all I wanted to know." Artemis said as she withdrew her senses from him and began using her senses to touch other inhabitats of the bar and see what their intentions were.

Draiton settled himself down again. "So its a woman. If I knew that I would of been a bit nicer. She has telepathic powers and leads the guardians and mages here. Seems like someone I would not want to cross. But who is she?"
He pushed the glass to the side and asked for just water. He realy wasn't much of a drinker and anyways he didn't feel like having a hangover in the morning. He looked up at her now with a more gental gaze. "Who are you. I don't mean your position but your name." He moved his hand to his lap and flipping it over with his fingers pointing up and his palm flat. A stream of water shot from his thum and lept from finger to finger.

Artemis watched amused as he played with water that had appeared out of nowhere.
"Come and sit with me. Company would be wonderful if you don't mind me being a Panwere." Artemis smiled, but never let her hood up.
It had been a long time since someone had talked to her willingly. It would be nice to converse with someone.

Draiton nodded and moved over near her. Anyone who was willing to be around him would be good company no matter what they were. His own people thought him a traitor and all those who did not side with the normal or stereotypic demons didn't trust eachother because they didn't know who was an outcast and who wasn't. The demon could just be spying on them ready to kill them for betraying the village. He suspected that like him she had a good reason to keep her hood up. He also kept his cloak on because his body had a way of shifting and if he willed it to. It was a specialty of his clan to change their bodies into certain forms. "I have no problem sitting with you even if you were a zombie. I dont have the pleasure of anyones company for long." His face fell as he remembered the past.

"My name is Artemis Yuki," Artemis said as she brought her hood down.
Of the people who looked over and saw her, about two thirds left. Artemis shook her head.
"Well looks like I have to make this up to Owner again. He doesn't really like me being here because I take away a great deal of his business." Artemis laughed.
"As you will see, people in this town do not like me. It is because of what I was forcefully turned into." Artemis explained.
"I had at one time been the High Mage and Guardian of the City. No longer. I was demoted..." Artemis blushed as she told part of her life story to a complete stranger.
"Forgive me, I have rambled on..." Artemis apologized.
"Who are you?? And what brings you to my fair city?" She questioned as the bartender brought her another glass of whiskey and she took it.

He noticed her blush and guessed that she might feel a little awkward telling him so much. "I am here only for a while unless if I find reason to stay. I have never stayed in one place longer then a season because thats the longest its taken a city to gather a mob to run me out of town. Before they even get to my place of dwelling I am usualy a good mile outside the city walls. I know I am not wanted and I have gotten use to it. Only lycans have accepted me and that was also short lived though not as short lived as in the cities." The water in his hand formed a house on fire and once he noticed it splashed down into a puddle in his hand again.

"You have an amazing talent with the elements. I am impressed that you use it as such." Artemis said, noticing the little house.
"As long as you don't make it blatantly obvious at to what you are cause me or my city any troubles then you are welcome to stay here as long as you wish." Artemis smiled.

He nodded "I will do nothing to harm anyone or break any law. But I don't think that will be enough. Thank you for inviting me to stay though. I promise I would never try to harm you. I would never harm a lady...its against my code." He bowed slightly towards her.

Artemis giggled. "A Demon with a code. Now that is definitely something new." She said lowly so the other inhabitants of the bar could not hear.
"There are many things to do here. They do have festivals but I'm not sure what new ones are coming up. You will probably not see me often for I have to monitor both the white and black tower. We do not have a High Mage or a High Guardian yet." Artemis said.

Draiton nodded. "Festivals I might be able to go unnoticed but it would be hard for people to not find out what I am if they look close. I am cursed with this existance and have become as opposite of my existance as I can." He ran a hand thru his hair letting his hood fall. His gentle blue eyes looked into her eyes. "I can not change what I am but I can change who I am. I can stop myself from being like my people. I was in love once but an assassin from my clan had caught up with me and killed her to make me suffer. When the people of the city found the remains of the demon next to her they ran me out of town thinking I had killed them both, but I had only killed him out of rage." He ran his hand thru his hair again. "That was five cycles of the moon before the last blood moon."

"You could always become a nighttime person and live in the neighborhood. No one really come out at night except for the non-humans." Artemis leaned closer. "Myself included in that." She whispered to him.
"There might be some demons living there now unless they have moved already. Not many maybe one or two. I never see them anymore unfortunately. Time is very scarce and precious. No one will come at you unless you enrage them some how." Artemis tried to reassure him as she sat back in her seat. She waved the bartender over once more.
"I think I'll have something different this time. A pina collada please." The bartender two the shot glass and later returned with a large glass of the coconut drink.
"Much better." Artemis sighed.
