New Arrival

Alyssa had just awoke after a long sleep. She arrived to Aeronwen sometime ago but slept the time away. Awaking in the cemetery she stretched and yawned. She perched herself on top of a large cross head stone.
I wonder what there is to get into in this area? She thought to herself looking up at the beautiful night sky.

Artemis walked through the cemetary. She had heard a rumor and had come here to see if it was true or not.
"I don't believe it." Artemis said as she looked at the gravestone on her family's plot. They had actually done it.
Tears began to form in her eyes. But she refused to shed them.

Alyssa heard the girl walking and had froze. She hadn't been around people in a long time. She heard the girls tears falling. She walked threw the cemetery looking for the girl that the tears belonged to.
"Why do you cry?" She asked outta curiosity.

Artemis laughed.
"Take a look at the headstone. The name inscribed upon it is Artemis Yuki." Artemis laughed again.
"How cruel is fate that my own family would do this?"
The headstone read:
Rest in Peace
Artemis Yuki - High Mage and High Guardian of the City of Aeronwen
We will miss you and hope that you find peace.
You had always been an honorable daughter and sister.
Artemis closed her eyes. Her family would rather her be dead than for her to be what she was now... a panwere. They knew she lived but they had done this anyway.

"I had at one time been human. But it seems that my own family has cut ties to me." Artemis laughed harshly once more.
"I guess this is their way of saying they never wish to lay eyes on my again. They will have no worry of that. For a family to so easily lay to rest a living daughter is no family I wish to be a part of." Artemis got up.
"I am Artemis Yuki, the Panwere. I am also the Captain of the Mages and the Guardians, demoted because I am no longer human." She laughed lowly as this.
"And who would you be ma'am?? You must be new here in Aeronwen." Artemis said.

Alyssa shifted her weight a lil on her feet. "I am Alyssa Shadow. I came to Aeronwen a while ago but decided to sleep for a while." She said pausing. " I am a wondering vampire."

"It is nice to meet you Alyssa. I hope you and I will always meet on good terms. Forgive me if I disturbed your slumber. I had come only to confirms this rumor of my.... funeral." Artemis crinkled her nose at the last word.
She still couldn't believe her family had done this to her. If they wished never to see her or claim her again, then so be it. She would no longer be a part of their perfect family.

"You waking me from my slumber is something you dont have to worry about. I was already awake. I was just enjoying the night air." Alyssa said sweetly looking up at the stars.

"Have you been to the Vampiric Lands?? I don't think they have a ruler yet. They all end up getting assassinated..." Artemis shook her head.
"Anyway, I really don't want to stay here any longer. Far too depressing. How would you like to see the sights of Aeronwen?" Artemis asked.

Alyssa looked around and thought of the place as peaceful, but to each their own. "Sure that would be nice to have someone show me around. I don't need to go getting myself staked or anything like that."

"Where would you like to begin Alyssa? There are many places in Aeronwen. There is a night club, a library, a market place, several restaurants here as well. So where to??"
Artemis waited patiently for Alyssa to reply, glad to be able to talk to someone. Not that she would ever let such a thing show in her body or aura. That would never do for her composure to slip and her mask to fall. No they must always stay in place or she would be hurt like she had been before. And she refused to let that happen again.
